Greetings! I was blessed with the amazing experience of becoming an intern for Phoenix Shanti Group in May of 2012. Thus began my journey of having a growing passion for working with individuals living with HIV/AIDS, chemical dependency, and behavioral health needs. It was with tremendous gratitude that I accepted the position as Behavioral Health Therapist at Shanti in December 2012. I am honored to see human resiliency in action each and every day.

Keith Thompson- CEO/Executive Director (M.Div, LISAC)
Joined Phoenix Shanti Group as its Executive Director/CEO in January of 2002. Keith is a founding and current member of both the Phoenix Ryan White Title I Council and the HIV Prevention Planning Group of Arizona. A State Licensed Substance Abuse Counselor, Keith also has years of experience in behavioral health service delivery and administration as well as HIV prevention. Himself HIV+ since 1985, Keith resides in Phoenix with his partner of 20 years
Justin Kimberlin- Transitional Housing Coordinator
Hello and Welcome to our website!
My name is Justin Kimberlin and I am serving as the Transitional Housing Coordinator as well as on site manager for the Phoenix Shanti Group. I feel very lucky to be able to use my skills and talents to work for such an amazing establishment.
I personally was a client With Phoenix Shanti in 2016 suffering from addiction and Homelessness. Through the sense of belonging and being a part of many of the services provided by Shanti I have found a new way of life.
My main objective in my role is to ensure that we can provide the best quality of life and services for our clients that is possible. It is imperative for me to ensure that the Transitional Housing Program operates to the high levels of service. I will do anything within my power to give anyone willing to change their life the same opportunity that I had.
Shanti is home to me, and I welcome you to the family.

I came to the Phoenix Shanti Group in April 2012, having HIV and being an addict. I had no hope for my future. I went through the program at PSG. With all their love and faith in me, I was able to get my life back in order again. Now, I am so blessed to be able to work for Phoenix Shanti Group as an Operations Assistant. This is forever my home. God Bless them all.
Matt Lopez- Director of Vocational Rehabilitation (BHT)
I have been a team member of The Phoenix Shanti Group and Shanti's 2nd Chances for 10 years. As Director of Vocational Rehabilitation my job is to train patients in a retail environment and assist them in becoming employed and stably housed. I am a witness to countless success stories and look forward to doing everything I can to help future trainees.
James Claymon- Supportive Housing/Behavioral Health Coordinator (NCPsyT)
I started with Phoenix Shanti Group in February of 2010. It's with a sense of gratitude and appreciation that I approach my position here at PSG. I manage our supportive housing program for chronically homeless HIV+ individuals. In this role, I provide a wide array of case management services. These included solution focused program options for patients to assist them in gaining access to internal and community resources. Additionally, I provide administrative support for the clinic and am part of the clinics management team. I also developed and maintain the organizations website and social media. My applicable educational background includes: Nationally Certified Psychiatric Technician, Certified Medical Assistant, Certified Nutrition Counselor and Certified Personal Trainer.
Anne Crozier- Behavioral Health Therapist (MA, LAC)
Hello! I joined the Shanti team as a Behavioral Health Therapist in July 2015. I’m a graduate of Northern Arizona University’s MA in Counseling program and have previous experience working in inpatient and home-based settings.
It’s with heartfelt joy and gratitude that I call Shanti home and share in the person-centered, collaborative treatment environment that our team fosters.

Michael Stantz- Behavioral Health Technician/Recovery Coach/Peer Support
My name is Michael Stantz and I am currently a Behavioral Health Technician/Recovery Coach. I am working towards my personal goal of becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a Masters in Social Work.
I have been with Shanti since November 1, 2010. As a recovery addict myself, I am able to relate to the patients to challenge them to find a new way of life. At Shanti, I am able to give the support needed to grow and heal every day. The gift for me is that I get to experience the reciprocal benefits of on addict/alcoholic helping another. Another great part of my position is to create hope to those living with HIV through education, awareness, and prevention.

Hello! My name is Lindsay Van Gorder and I joined the Phoenix Shanti Group as of December 2013 as a Behavioral Health Technician. I recently graduated from the University of Phoenix with my Master of Science in Counseling/Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am currently a Licensed Associate Counselor.
I interned with the Phoenix Shanti Group and enjoyed the experience so much I wanted to come back to assist individuals living with HIV/AIDs and chemical dependency. I have a passion for the recovery process and assisting clients with behavioral health issues.
